Punta Gorda is a city that is going through a major revitalization. The City has secured State Historic District status and has made historic preservation a top priority. Many programs are being initiated to help restore and preserve the Punta Gorda historic district. One of these many programs is the City Streetscape Program whose main purpose is geared towards the restoration of an old florida atmosphere. This program aims to add brick lanes, street lamps, benches, brick planters and flowers and shade trees to the historic district. Check back often for updates as the Punta Gorda Historic District is moving full steam ahead!
